At CrossFit Glasshouse, we design every class with intention—and strength training is at the core of nearly every session.
It’s not just a “nice-to-have” feature or a warm-up to the “real” workout. And it’s one of the most valuable tools we give our athletes—especially those navigating the daily grind of a demanding job and a busy life.
Why We Strength Train
We strength train to get stronger—but more importantly, to feel stronger. It’s not about chasing PRs or bulking up (unless that’s your goal).
It’s about building a body that supports your life: sitting at a desk, chasing kids, lifting groceries, carrying luggage, or just getting through a day without aches and pains. Our athletes—primarily busy professionals aged 35–45—consistently report feeling more capable, more confident, and more energized after just a few months of consistent strength work.
Smart. Safe. Efficient.
We know your time is limited. That’s why every strength session is:
- Programmed with purpose – cycles that make sense and build on each other
- Scaled for every level – whether you’re brand new or coming back after a break
- Coached with care – you’re never left alone with a barbell and a hope
Our coaches provide constant feedback and guidance to help you lift with proper form, progress safely, and get the most out of every minute. This isn’t random. It’s a system that works—and works fast.
Strength Training and Fat Loss: The Science
Strength training boosts your metabolism in two powerful ways.
First, muscle is metabolically active tissue—it burns more calories at rest than fat does. So, the more muscle you build, the more energy your body uses throughout the day, even when you're not working out.
Second, strength training triggers what's known as "excess post-exercise oxygen consumption" (EPOC), meaning your body continues to burn calories after the session as it recovers. Combine this with smart nutrition and regular movement, and strength training becomes a highly effective tool for sustainable fat loss and a leaner look.
You can expereince benefits almost immediately
What we see week after week, month after month, is that strength training does more than build muscle. It builds people. Here’s what we mean:
- 💪 Improved posture and reduced back pain
Sitting all day takes a toll. Strength training undoes some of that damage, especially to the hips, glutes, and core. - 🧠 Better mood and mental clarity
There’s nothing like finishing a lift you thought you couldn’t do to boost your confidence and leave you feeling like a boss for the rest of the day. - 🚀 Increased performance in high-intensity workouts
Strength is the foundation that makes your conditioning workouts more effective and safer. When you’re stronger, you move better, lift more efficiently, and recover faster. - 🔁 One type of training fuels the other
Strength training supports cardio. Cardio supports recovery. It’s a loop of progress that keeps giving back.
It’s Not Just Training—It’s Transformation
Confidence. Strength. Energy. That’s what our athletes gain—and keep. The beauty of smart strength programming is that it doesn’t just live in the gym. It shows up in the way you carry yourself into meetings, through hard days, and into life outside these walls.
And if you’ve been waiting for the “right time” to get strong—this is it. We’ll help you start exactly where you are.
